We had to wait a long time for it, but the Apple TV app is finally available for the Chromecast with Google TV. So now you can enjoy Apple TV Plus and movies or series purchased through iTunes.

Apple TV available on new Chromecast
It was announced in December, but now the time has really come: the Apple TV app has been released for the Chromecast with Google TV. If you have a subscription to Apple TV Plus, you can watch all films and series from that streaming service on your television. You can also play titles that you have purchased through iTunes via the latest Chromecast. Important to know: Apple TV is unfortunately not available on older models of the HDMI dongle.
You can just download the Apple TV app on your Chromecast with Google TV. The interface looks – as we are used to from Apple – sleek, with beautiful backgrounds and clear navigation. If you have a 4K television, almost all content is available in this high resolution.
The Chromecast with Google TV has a new interface
The Chromecast with Google TV is the most recent HDMI dongle from Google. The interface has been completely renewed and turns any television into a smart TV with all kinds of useful apps. Google also includes a remote control, so you don’t necessarily have to operate it with your smartphone. That remote control also contains a microphone, so you can also control the Chromecast with the Google Assistant.
There is also a disadvantage: the chromecast is not officially available in the Netherlands. Do you still want to buy it? Then read our explanatory article about buying the Chromecast with Google TV in the Netherlands. Do you first want to know what we think of the device?
