Remove WhatsApp in six steps

You can have various reasons for not using or wanting to use WhatsApp anymore. Of course you can easily delete the app, but you can also delete your entire WhatsApp account. This immediately removes all your chat conversations, group conversations and settings. Also, no one can find you on WhatsApp anymore, because there is no longer an account.

This is how you delete a WhatsApp account:

  1. Grab your phone and open WhatsApp;
  2. Click on the three dots at the top right;
  3. Choose ‘Settings’ go to ‘Account’;
  4. Tap on ‘Delete my account’;
  5. Enter your phone number;
  6. Tap the red ‘Delete my account’ button.

This is how you delete a WhatsApp conversation

Of course you can also delete only a WhatsApp conversation. Follow the steps below to discard a specific conversation.

  1. Grab your phone and open WhatsApp;
  2. Long press the conversation you want to delete;
  3. Tap the trash can in the bar that appears at the top;
  4. Tap ‘Delete media in this chat’ or not;
  5. Tap ‘Delete’ and you’re done!

If you check the option ‘remove media in this chat’, this will ensure that sent photos, videos, documents or any audio fragments also disappear from your device.

Delete WhatsApp conversation

Do you want to delete a group conversation? Then press and hold the correct conversation, click on the three dots at the top right and choose ‘Leave group’. Then you need to press and hold the conversation again and choose ‘Delete’.
