WhatsApp: send videos without sound

The new function only works for WhatsApp testers. From version 2.21.3.13 it is possible to send videos without sound. Handy if you want to send an image, but do not want to let the receiver hear unnecessary ambient noise. How to send a video via WhatsApp without sound:

  2. Tap the paperclip at the bottom right;

    Choose ‘Gallery’

    The icon then shows a speaker with a line through it

Sending a silent video offers no restrictions. This way you can simply send long videos without hearing anything. That is different from an animated gif file of such a video, where sound is never heard. Do not send a video, but make an animated file from a video you have made? Then follow these steps:

More about WhatsApp

When the function will also be rolled out to all users is still unknown. Such simple novelties make WhatsApp smarter and more useful. The chat app is by far the most popular on the Play Store. However, there are more and more people who want to switch to another app to communicate.

This has to do with the fact that WhatsApp makes it mandatory to share data with Facebook. For Europeans there is nothing wrong (yet), but alternatives such as Telegram or Signal are more popular than ever.
